An Oklahoma man caught the Moore tornado as it formed neat Newcastle, touched down and began it’s deadly journey.

I was trying to think up a funny (or weird) moment to tell you about from 2012, but last years Balloonfest was loaded with them!  Some not so good (Hellyeah couldn’t make it.) but the weekend overall was one long goooooood time!  P. O. D. played last year and that was probably the most fun day!

They decided instead of eating out, they wanted to bbq.  We sent a runner out to buy meat and stuff and a good friend of ours, (and master chef!) Jack Carpenter, manned the grill.  Sonny from P.O.D. had his son on tour with him so they got some good father/son time in and the rest of the band had a great time just chillin and grillin!

One of their party had also lived in Juarez for awhile.  He invited some relatives he hadn’t seen in forever and the bbq turned into a really nice family reunion.  It was more like spending the day in their backyard then a show/work day!

The country continues to pray for and help the people devastated by the massive tornado that touched down in Oklahoma on Monday, killing dozens.

While thoughts go out to those affected, plenty of video of the tornado has emerged to show just how catastrophic the event was.

Last weekend after the final match of the season for English soccer giants Chelsea, the team held a post-game ceremony at midfield at Stamford Bridge. A toddler who was supposed to be in the ceremony broke away from the crowd with a ball, dribbled down the field, and kicked it in the goal. And the crowd went nuts for him. Then he turned around and raised his fists in the air, and everyone lost it.

Aranda totally gives me a lady boner!

These guys put on one hell of a show! I still regret not catching Dameon’s shoe at the KLAQ BBQ back in 2011. They covered Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog” with Halestorm during that event and it was pretty freaking amazing!

An enormous tornado with a debris cloud two miles wide tore through the metropolitan area just south of Oklahoma City on Monday afternoon.

UPDATE 9:28 p.m. EST: At least 51 people were killed in the storm, including seven children from Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, according to KFOR in Oklahoma City. The news station reported that 75 student and staff were inside the school when the storm struck. Officials said Monday night that the search of the rubble remaining of the school had turned to a recovery mission.

UPDATE 8:33 p.m. EST: At least 37 people have been killed in the storm, according to the local medical examiner. The two-mile wide twister, has been given a preliminary classification of an EF-4 tornado (winds of 166 to 200 mph), according to weather officials. Crews are continuing to search an area of 30 square miles for victims of the powerful storm.

UPDATE 7:49 p.m. EST: ABC News reports that at least 10 people have been killed in the storm in Moore, Okla. today.

UPDATE 7:04 p.m. EST: The AP reports that several children were pulled alive from the wreckage at Plaza Towers Elementary School, in Moore.

UPDATE 6:05 p.m. EST: CNN affiliate KFOR is reporting that people are pulling children out from the rubble of an elementary school in Moore. There is no official word yet on the condition of the children.

The town of Moore suffered tremendous damage as the twister gradually moved east, but it never did reach the downtown area of Oklahoma’s capital city. The National Weather Service had issued a tornado emergency warning for the region, a rarity for such a highly populated area. Schools, houses, businesses and many, many more buildings have been utterly devastated.

The tornado may also have touched down in or near the town of Newcastle, which is where many people who had been evacuated due to Sunday’s storms were sheltered.

In total, more than 171,000 people may have been in the path of the tornado, according to CNN.

5 days to go and the party is on at Wet N Wild.  Let’s get warmed up for it by looking back at past Balloonfests!

One of my favorite Balloonfest memories also involves one of my scariest ones!  A couple of hours before Powerman 5000 were set to take the stage, their tour manager came flying out of the RV yelling at me to call for an ambulance.  Spider One had suffered a BAD head wound while warming up.

As it was a really busy day at the park, the medics were scattered taking care of others so for a few agonizing minutes there, all he and I could do was try and control the bleeding.  The medical people got there and did their thing.  Then Spider, after a quick shower to wash all the blood off, (bright red blood shows up really clearly against bleached blonde hair) led Powerman 5000 through one of the best Balloonfest shows ever!!

What comes around goes around. And sometimes, it comes around much quicker than you expect.

This thief in Columbia thought he’d come up with a great way to steal a woman’s purse. And everything seems hunky dory for him until a big ol’ bus got in his way and mowed him down.

Amazingly, the thief only suffered minor injuries, proving karma may have turned its head when he made his getaway. And in further misplaced karma news, the woman he robbed was actually the one who pulled him to safety.

Now, that’s a forgiving woman.

If you recall, last month Patton Oswalt was on an episode of NBC’s T.V. show “Parks and Recreation.” On that episode he played a resident who filibusters a town hall meeting to prevent a vote by proposing an 8 minute long treatment of the new “Star Wars Episode VII” movie.

The best part of it is that Oswalt made the entire thing up, it wasn’t part of the script!

Alexis Normand is Canadian, so the “Star-Spangled Banner” isn’t her national anthem. But if you’re not sure about the lyrics before you perform it at a major event, write them down. Beats MAKING THEM UP AS YOU GO! Roseanne Barr’s version may have been the crudest, but at least she got the lyrics right. Even the Memorial Cup crowd in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, knows the words because they ended up helping Alexis along the way.

Revs owner started singing him this song since he was a puppy and has not forgotten it. If you notice when he hears the beginning he jumps to his feet to walk over to the computer. It is cute that Rev recognizes his song that he was sang to ever since he was a puppy. Check out his 2 minutes of fame singing ‘Make you feel my love’ from Adele below.

Young Wesley is out to find his bride on Baby Bachelor but the young girls make it a hilarious competition. You will be quite stunned how these little girls act just the same as the actual adult ladies on the Bachelor. Get ready to be swept off your feet by Wesley and the little girls trying to win his heart! If only this show were real we ALL would tune in without a doubt!

I wanted to share this video with you in hopes that you’ll recognize many items that modern kids won’t. The one item I don’t ever remember playing was the “Turnin Turbo” driving school game. I admit I still have one of those items stored in storage that is considered the original baller. Hopefully you have a blast from the past watching this video on these items that modern kids won’t get.
