Ok, not worst maybe but it's absolutely the states least visited. This (dis) honor almost went to El Paso but it's not the true "winner" in this case.

Millions of people visit Texas state parks every year but one park in particular is way behind the others when it comes to its popularity with tourists.

El Paso's Wyler Aerial Tramway is, technically, the least visited state park in Texas but with good reason ... it's been closed since 2020. Read on to see which park truly gets the least action.

While Texas state park visitors number in the millions each year, not all parks are visited equally. A recent list names the lone star states least popular state parks and the one in 1st place is seeing almost no action as at all.

Texas state parks are broken into 7 different regions: Big Bend Country, Gulf Coast, Hill Country, Panhandle Plains, Piney Woods, South Texas Plains and Prairies & Lakes.

The first parks were opened to the public in the 1930's and the most recent one opened in 2012. (That one also made this list...)

Which Texas State Park Saw The Least Visitors In 2023?

The Devils Sinkhole didn't even get out of triple digits with only 903 visitors for (fiscal year) 2023. It could be that name ... maybe they should go with "Bat's Paradise" or "Really Cool Hole" ... "It's Got A Great Personality" maybe.

If you're planning a trip, you can check out a list of all the Texas State Parks here.

The most convenient parks for El Pasoans are Franklin Mountains State Park, (actually in El Paso) and Big Bend National Park about 3 hours east of EP, in Marfa.
