El Paso, Texas has been featured in a few movies, however, it recently came up that the Sun City was featured in a sci-fi film that starred the Governator himself.

The folks over at Entertainment Weekly recently released a list of the 31 best sci-fi movies- which many of us disagreed with! But, one movie that didn't make the list certainly got many of us talking! "Total Recall"- the 1990 version not the newer version.

It all started when a listener called in to say that "Total Recall" should have been on the list, which it wasn't, and then they mentioned that it somehow was connected to El Paso. Of course, I did some research and here's what I found.

Now, I'll admit, it has been a long time since I've seen the movie, and if I'm being completely honest, I initially couldn't remember what the movie was about! If you don't remember either- here is the trailer.

Well, as you can imagine, Quaid runs into some trouble along the way. To avoid some of the trouble, Quaid acquires a fake ID; his new ID has the name James Brubaker- and Mr. Brubaker is from El Paso! Apparently, his home address is 557986 Elm Street!

We do have an Elm Street, but the address number is a bit exaggerated! Maxim also points out that in the Rekall ad in the subway, the area code is 915. You can barely make it out, but it's there!

So why El Paso? I have no clue! I researched high and low and cannot find a single reason as to why Brubaker is from El Paso! But, I can assure you that I will rewatch this as a proud El Pasoan, but I don't think I'll be getting a memory implant anytime soon!
