Emily Davis has been making music for over 10 years & during that time, she's built up quite an illustrious career: releasing 3 solo albums, many successful YouTube covers & side projects, & her band Emily Davis & The Murder Police has opened up for acts such as Bad Religion, Neko Case, Kyle Gass from Tenacious D among MANY others. Well she's back at it again with a brand new album that just dropped today called "Never A Moment Alone".

Everyone in Emily Davis & The Murder Police come from all different kinds of musical backgrounds & one listen to the album makes that VERY clear. Her first two releases had that punk rock angst, "Why Weren't They Stunned?" & "Don't Make a Promise". Both painting a vivid picture of where her mind set was; being frustrated with the events of 2020.

"Artificial Happiness" & "Semicolon" show off her softer side with her folk rock roots, while the bands love for 70s classic & 90s alternative are very clear in songs like "Never A Moment Alone" & "Same Old World".

Needless to say, recording the album was both an exhausting but uplifting process, as explained by Emily Davis herself: "We recorded five of the songs in January 2020 over the course of four days. We went back with the other seven songs in January 2021 and spent nine days in the studio finishing the album up. I'm very, very eager to go back into creative-mode. Bands live through these life-cycles of writing, rehearsing, recording, promoting, and finally, touring. We've been in promo-mode for quite a while now and I'm ready to focus on writing some new material (and hopefully do a bit of touring too!)."

There's another song off the record, one that is an extremely emotional highlight for Emily & the entire band: "We have this song called "Bloodlines" that I wrote for a friend battling cancer back in 2019. It was my way of trying to encourage him through the hell that is chemotherapy/radiation. Basically, it's a song about how humans have always managed to persist. The desire to survive is ingrained in us as a species. Covid is just another stepping stone in our pathway -- we just gotta keep putting one foot in front of the other and eventually it will be a fading image in our collective rearview mirror. The road is made by walking it, after all".

Emily Davis & The Murder Police will also be performing an album release party tonight at the Love Buzz at 8pm with support from local bands Le Voyage & Tribes.
