El Paso certainly has an amazing pool of talent, with some artists performing for YEARS & accomplishing so much in their career. One of those El Paso artists is Emily Davis.

Emily Davis has been making music as early as 2010 & within that time, she has released 3 solo albums, released SEVERAL covers on YouTube, has done many side projects (including a folk duet with Javier Martinez called "Cult Loveless"), & formed her own band Emily Davis & The Murder Police back in 2016.

The 4 piece Alt-punk band includes:

  • Emily Davis on guitar/vocals,
  • Jorge Torres on electric guitar
  • Tomas Tinajero on drums
  • & Jose Macias on bass

Since 2016, Emily Davis & The Murder Police have opened up for Bad Religion, Authority Zero, Cold War Kids, The Toasters, The Kyle Gas Band (yes the SAME Kyle Gas from Tenacious D which Emily has admitted to saying that was a HUGE highlight in her career), Red Elvises, Neko Case, Sparta, Leftover Crack, and Days N Daze. They also released their first album "Same Old World" in 2018 & they're back with another album coming out June 25th called "Never A Moment Alone".

Emily released the first single "Why Weren't They Stunned?" on May 14th, & Emily said that the song "was written out of my frustration about how our country has repeatedly failed in handling national crises. COVIS was the impetus but it's not a song specifically about COVID. We aren't acting with urgency when it comes to climate change...racism or the widening income gap... and it's frustrating. We need to radically address each of these issues instead of continuing to rest on our laurels."

Emily also went on to say that there will be an album release party at Love Buzz on June 25th with Tribes & Le Voyage & if things continue to improve, they're planning a few shows in Albuquerque & Santa Fe, New Mexico.

You can hear Emily Davis & The Murder Police on Q Connected, Sunday Nights 10 to Midnight. If you're a local artist & perform within 200 miles of El Paso, you can submit your music HERE or send me an email at daniel.paulus@townsquaremedia.com
