Q Connected Gets Aggressive With New Slipknot This Sunday Night
Every Sunday night, 10pm to midnight, 95.5 KLAQ brings you the latest of national rock releases & shines the spotlight on local rock. We call it Q-Connected.
We've been teased about the possibility of new music for a while but this week the maggots will be pleased to know that we WILL see the return of the masked metalheads themselves...SLIPKNOT.
In a Loudwire article, Corey Taylor explains that the new song was based off of a Netflix documentary called "The Ripper", which talks about a serial killer, Peter Sutcliffe, terrorizing the small English village, Chapeltown back in the 70s. The local newspaper (or rag) would report on the theory that Peter would make his victims prostitutes or wayward women.
Many Slipknot fans have posted their reactions to the song & if you ask me how I would describe the song, I would simply use one word: "BRUTAL"
We'll also hear the return of the original nu metal bands: Limp Bizkit. It's been over a decade since their last album, Gold Cobra (2011), & seven years since the last time Bizkit released new songs. That is until this year, where they finally released their new album "Still Sucks" & we got to hear their first new song in YEARS.
And of course we can't forget the local rockers. This week we will hear from The 1-800, Circa Arcana, Father Wolf, two artists debuting on Q Connected: Love Gush & Relayden. We also will hear from Coco Butter, who will be performing at the upcoming Million Koins For Kids fundraiser event at Bart Reid's Comic Strip on November 23rd (You can get your tickets here).
If you're a local artist & you perform in or within 200 miles of El Paso, you can submit your music for the NEXT Q-Connected HERE or send me an email at daniel.paulus@townsquaremedia.com
