Fill Yourself with Holiday Cheer at These 12 El Paso Bars
As of today, we are officially 12 days from Christmas. Rather than running around trying to find golden rings and partridges, let's go get some draaanks.
As opposed to Christmas shopping, I like this idea MUCH better. If you're still looking for gift ideas though and want to shop at local businesses, try these suggestions:
If you're done with your shopping, (or have just had it with shopping), celebrate ... or, regain your sanity ... with a cold one at one of my official 12 Bars Of Christmas. You can do these in whatever order you want and you're free to hit up more than one.
A couple even have multiple locations so you can ride your one horse open sleigh to each. Just let a (sober) elf handle the reins, ok? Again, in no particular order, here goes:
3 Pints Pub, 10710 Gateway North. Food, drinks and, if The New England Patriots are playing on the day you visit, you'll probably find their fan club fully assembled.
B-17 Bombers Oyster Pub, 201 S. El Paso. One of 3 "B" bars, along with B-2's and B-52's, this one is conveniently located just a couple of blocks from all the Winterfest fun and attractions set up downtown and by the Convention Center.
Crawdaddys, 212 Cincinnati. What's Christmas without some jambalaya? Crawdaddy's serves a number of cajun delights as well as spirits of all kinds.
Aceitunas, 5200 Doniphan. We have such mild winters in El Paso, you will most likely be quite comfy enjoying a hot toddy or two outside on their awesome patio.
DeadBeach Brewery, 406 Dutango. If you REALLY want to go local, do it sipping a locally brewed beer in this locally owned brewery.
Cabo Joe's, 7942 Gateway East. They also have "Bikini" Joe's at Rich Beem and Zaragosa. You can order any kind of drink you want, the food is awesome and neither location will let you down bikini-wise.
Kings X, 4119 N. Mesa. A staple on the west side bar scene, the Aikman's have been offering drinks in a comfortable, almost home-like setting since the 60's.
The Rockhouse, 9828 Montana. Who wouldn't like a drink along with some bomb food and live music from local, regional, national and international hard rock and heavy metal bands?
Union Draft House, 7470 Cimmaron Plz. They offer food, have 100 beers on tap and can also be a barhop tour themselves with 3 locations around El Paso.
Merry Christmas and, again, if you're going to drink; find a reindeer to drive. Ok?
