Here’s How To Have Furry Fun With Fido In El Paso
Dogs are the best and El Paso is loaded with places where you and yours can have a good time and take them right along with you.
Not so long ago, finding pet friendly establishments wasn't really that easy. Going to someone's home, parks, some hotels and the vet were about the only places your furrball was welcome.
Some restaurants would allow service dogs but that was about it and those tended to be limited to the physically handicapped. Nowadays, they're pretty common and I think they are what paved the way for all dogs to hang out with us while we do people stuff.
Once service animals got so common, the days of doggie segregation were numbered. Today, you can take your perrito with you just about anywhere. I see them in bars, restaurants, patios, coffee shops, bars and movie theaters.
Some places will even hook 'ya boy, (or girl), up with a treat. Chik Fil A and Dairy Queen are among the places where dogs can get in on the "snack-tion" with you. Here are some places around El Paso to eat, drink and stay without a no dogs allowed sign.
Where To Stay
Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park - What pup doesn't like pampering? Your dog is totally welcome at this 5 star, award winning hotel where they get a comfy bed, a treat and a cool bandana.
Wanna run around?
Almost all parks welcome pups and parks like Franklin Mountains State Park and Bily Rogers Arroyo Park are really nice hiking trails. El Paos even has a dog friendly spray park.
Need a little "hair of the dog"?
El Paso is loaded with dog friendly bars like The Yard, Gringo Theory, Deadbeach Brewery and B-17 Bombers Oyster Pub. Dogs even have their OWN bar ... Mutt's Canine Cantina was built especially for them.
Hungry?
A lot of restaurants allow service dogs and some have areas for "civilian" dogs ... call your favorite eatery and ask them directly.
Don't Have A Dog?
The Humane Society of El Paso has a bunch of furrballs needing a "fur"ever home. Ditto for El Paso Animal Services, Laws 'N Paws and the Rescue League of El Paso. C'mon, go get one ... you know you want to.
