This week we'll be hearing a few local bands either doing covers of classics or just emulating sounds of decades past: like Kyng who paid tribute to Metallica & the late Cliff Burton by covering one their favorite tunes from Ride the Lighting, Into the Spiral who recently released a cover of Stevie Wonder, & two bands that sounds like they've come straight out of the 80s: The 1-800, who just released their new "Do You Remember The First Time It Felt Like This?" EP in January & Juarez's Relayden, who reminds me a lot of those power metal bands from the 80s:

We'll also hear from Circa Arcana, Hollywood Bitch, Civil Serpents (who opened up for Authority Zero this year) & much more.

We'll also hear another cover by The Violent, the band formed by former members of Red Sun Rising. We'll hear their cover of the biggest, & most recognizable songs from The Doors, one of the biggest (& personally overlooked) industrial bands from the 90s Stabbing Westward.  We'll also hear the brand new tunes that were just released this week from both Halestorm AND the Red Hot Chili Peppers (who IS back with John Frusciante on guitar).

If you're a local artist & you perform in or within 200 miles of El Paso, you can send in your tunes for the NEXT Q Connected right HERE or send me an email at daniel.paulus@townsquaremedia.com

Join me Sunday afternoons for Q-Connected, 5-7pm,  on 95.5 KLAQ.
