You know who is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Hall and Oates and Janet Jackson. You know who isn’t in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Almost every metal band ever. Metallica is in, sure. But there are SO many great, influential acts that have been snubbed, some of them for decades.

A band is eligible for the Hall 25 years after their first release. That mean Judas Priest (first release 1974) have been eligible for over 25 years. Judas Freaking Priest, Man!

Here are our final choices for the Mt. Rushmore of RARHOF Snubs.

  • 1.) Judas Priest-(see above)
  • 2.) Ozzy Osbourne- Ozzy IS in the Rock Hall as a member of Black Sabbath but NOT as a solo artist. The same Ozzy Osbourne that has sold more records and had more radio airplay as a solo artists than as a member of Sabbath. “Blizzard of Ozz”…”Bark at the Moon”…”Diary of a Madman”. All these we HUGE albums. Ozzy as a solo artist is one of the few from the ‘80’s that stayed relevant into the ‘90’s with “No More Tears”, Ozzfest and…oh yeah, the show on MTV where he can’t figure out how to work the TV remote. Still…Ozzy!
  • 3.) Iron Maiden – Is it that the HOF board just doesn’t like heavy metal? Are they squeamish about the pseudo-Satanic stuff? Do they have something against Eddie? I can’t think of any reason that Maiden shouldn’t be in.
  • 4.) Slayer- This last spot came down to either Slayer or Motley Crue. Now, just so I’m clear, it’s a damned shame that Crue isn’t in the Hall but Bon Jovi is. Motley Crue deserves to be there. But Slayer deserves it more. According to Brandon Coates. He got to make the final call since he was the one who came up with the category. Blame him.
