Talk about awkward...

World leaders came together to socialize at the G7 summit in Germany on Monday. President Obama was making the rounds to check in with everyone and stopped to chat with Italian Prime Minister Mario Renzi and International Monetary Fund President Christine Lagarde.

While the President was having an interesting conversation with these two leaders, the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi and his translator comes by and sits right next to them. Some time passes by and the Al-Abadi continues to be patient and wait for the President to acknowledge him.

Unfortunately, President Obama, Renzi and Lagarde ended up getting up off the bench to continue their conversation and ignored poor Al-Abadi. Trying to not make the conversation awkward, Al-Abadi looks down at his watch and at his translator and sadly walks away. Don't worry, Al-Abadi did get to spend some time with President Obama during a one-on-one meeting later in the day.

I can't help but think about quoting Mean Girls as the video plays. You can just imagine the President getting up and saying, "You can't sit with us."
