When did the band get together, and how?
[VOYEUR] was formed when Martin Benavente was in high school along with then Drummer now Keyboardist Myka Puentes in 2002 Just messing around in Martin's garage when a friend recommended for the bands name to be Voyeur beause it was a cool song from Blink 182 and the band stuck with the name and perverted theme. Later finding original guitarist Gno Madrid and as the lineup would change through the years, the band is now happy with the current lineup with Dave Stix, Jerr Bruiser and Mike Carrillo.
How would you describe your music to someone?
Its hard to describe our music to someone. But I guess you can say it sounds like BLOOD, SEX & ROCK N ROLL!
We have 2 full length albums out right now:
- DEAD ROSES FOR THE LIVING - 2005 available on iTunes
- WHAT GOES WITH BETRAYAL - 2009 available on iTunes
Both albums physical copies can be purchased at shows as well and also available in Europe, Japan and Canada. Coming 2012 New Album [SINNER, SAINT, LOVER, HATER] Currently In Production
Who are some of the bands that influence your music?
Our influences range from Deftones, Korn, The Cure, Marylan Manson, Rob Zombie, The Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins and the list can go on. When people ask us what we sound like its hard to say because each song we have sounds different but you can tell what were influenced by in each song. But I guess you can say we could tour with any of those bands and the music would mesh well and the tour would make sense.
What is your most memorable gig so far?
One of our most memorable gig was when SHINY TOY GUNS came into town. They were friends of ours and an opening act dropped out and needed a last minute opener. We were a little skeptical because we were different styles of music. But we decided to do it any way. The venue was stupid packed! we showed up and despite that they were and electronic band and we were a heavy band, the crowd was unbelievably awesome and was extremely crazy. People were getting smashed into the stage because it was so packed and the crowd was just awesome! SHINY TOY GUNS was amazing as well. We've also had the pleasure of playing with POWERMAN 5000, DROWNING POOL, ADEMA, TAPROOT, SALIVA, ATREYU, THE VEER UNION & TRAPT
