The boys are back in town ...

Beavis and Butt-head were a pair of teenage morons who sat on the couch all day watching tv and issuing absolutely scathing commentaries on American life, culture and music. (See video above.) When they weren't doing that, they were wandering the neighborhood torturing small animals, engaging in vandalism and annoying neighbors including an elderly couple who would eventually morph into the "King Of The Hill" characters.

MTV signed Beavis and Butt-head up after first seeing them in the short film "Frog Baseball" and kept them on air for 7 years. A feature-length movie, "Beavis and Butthead Do America" was released in 1996, along with a pretty cool soundtrack, and an 8th season aired briefly from October - December of 2011.

It's been crickets since then but, today a Beavis and Butt-head reboot was announced by Comedy Central. The deal will see Mike Judge back at the helm for two new seasons which will include specials and spinoffs. (Remember Beavis and Butthead mk. 1 spun off not only King Of The Hill but also Office Space, Daria and Silicon Valley) Once again, Judge does it all, writing, producing and voicing the episodes as the pair of misfits enter the world of Generation Z offering, of course, their sardonic and sarcastic take on "the modern world".  I can't wait to hear what they have to say about COVID - 19; especially when Cornholio finds out about the great TP shortage of 2020.

In these crazy times, with all that we currently face, I think Mike Judge summed it up best in this quote from comicbook.com:

"It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again."
