A study released in Houston shows that kids who receive extra arts classes do better in school and are happier in general!

The study showed that children exposed to arts classes such as theater, dance, music, visual arts, etc; did better in school and were even a little happier. Many also showed more empathy and concern toward other students.  According to chalkbeat.org:

Other recent studies on field trips to the theater and museums have also found encouraging results, boosting students’ political tolerance, interest in the arts, critical examination of art, and, in one case, math and reading test scores.

If your child's school doesn't offer these types of classes ... or doesn't offer instruction in your child's' chosen instrument ... there are several really, REALLY good music schools in town. Click on the links to learn more about these 3!
