General Mills has a tasty blast from the past coming our way, just in time for Halloween.

Back in the day, there was a kids breakfast cereal, modeled after Dracula, called Count Chocula. It was so popular, it sparked a series of creepy deliciousness dubbed the "monster cereals".

The other cereals in the series were Frankenberry, modeled after Frankenstein, Boo - Berry, a cool little ghost and the Fruit Brute, a werewolf. There was also a Mummy based cereal and the "Monster Mash" which was a mix of ALL the cereals.

According to the General Mills website, Count Chocula and Frankenberry came first in 1971. The original count being drawn by the same guy that drew the Trix rabbit.

Next came Boo-Berry ...

Followed by Fruit Brute...

Just for fun, let's not forget this guy...

These cereals have come and gone over the years, brought back from time to time and, according to MSN, it's been a decade since all the cereals were last available.

Here's their whole haunted history.

You can't keep a good monster down though and they're about to once again hit a grocery store near you, each box coming with a chance for the buyer to win toys based on the characters.

I'm not sure why the Mummy cereal didn't make the cut but be on the lookout for the others to take you back to the good old breakfast days of your childhood.

Those freakin' supply chain issues better not screw this up ...
