Who are all the members of your band, and what do they play?

Randy Vega (Guitar/ Vocals)
John Steady (Bass/MC)
Freddy Holbrook (Drums/ Backup Vocals)

When did the band get together, and how?

Steady Shakedown began in late October 2011. We all knew each other and had been in previous bands together. We wanted to play something different than what we had played before....Reggae/Rock.

How would you describe your music to someone?

Our music blends the styles of reggae/rock/acoustic with a little funk and hip hop. It is described as "party music", music to groove and dance to.

Who are some of the bands that influence your music?

The Expendables, Rebelution, Bob Marley, 311, Sublime, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Pepper, The Dirty Heads, Ballyhoo, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Slightly Stoopid, Fayuca, The Supervillains, James Brown, Red Hot Chili Peppers....and many more.

What is your most memorable gig so far?

We played with Voodoo Glow Skulls at Lips Lounge. It was a packed show. So much energy, everyone was dancing and grooving. Our music is slow and chill and a mosh pit broke out. People were jumping on stage and our singer was hit in the mouth with his microphone. Great show.

Are you currently signed to any kind of label or management?

We are not signed. We do all of our booking and promoting. We just recently won The Wartime Records Battle of the Bands. We are currently in the studio finishing up our first album. Release date TBA.

What other bands have your members been/are in?

Randy and Freddy were in a funk/reggae band called Twenty1Seven back in 06. John and Freddy were in a punk band called Think Again back in 09-10. Randy is currently the lead singer for the band An Endless Fight. John Steady is a hip hop artist and currently does hip hop shows/rap battles throughout El Paso.

We have shared the stage with some great local talent. We recommend Fixed Idea, Mexklan, Radio La Chusma, The Valley Rats, Foxy Mojo, Ribo Flavin, Sublevels, Emily Davis, An Endless Fight, Gentlemen, Red Queen Effect, City Mishaps, The Human Condition, The Hipocrit Orchestra.
