Sonic Is Turning Their Famous Slushes Into Hard Seltzers
Move over White Claw, someone new is entering the hard seltzer game: Sonic! That's right, Sonic Drive-In has now entered the chat!
Oklahoma City-based Sonic Drive-In has teamed up with the local COOP Ale Works to produce hard seltzers inspired by Sonic's popular Slush flavors. The news dropped when Greg Horton, a writer for Oklahoma based 405 Magazine, tweeted out these magnificent pictures.
It looks like the flavors will be:
- Ocean Water
- Cherry Limeade
- Orange Pineapple
- Lemon Berry
- Classic Lemonade
- Original Limeade
- Mango Guava
- Melon Medley
According to Horton, you can get a taste of these up and coming seltzers on May 1st- as to where you'll be able to purchase them is unknown as of now. It is known that the seltzers won't be available for purchase at the restaurants themselves.
Good news, though; according to Food & Wine, just because COOP Ale Works is Oklahoma based doesn't mean it won't be available elsewhere. Food & Wine is predicting that the seltzers will be available in locations where COOP Ale Works already distributes its own hard seltzers, in states such as Oklahoma, Texas (that's us!), Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Arkansas.
Hard seltzers have seen a big rise in popularity in the past two years and I have to admit I am a big fan. So, I have a task for all of you fellow Texans, let's keep an eye out and when you finally see these in stores let Joanna know! I absolutely love the Ocean Water at Sonic and I've always thought that it could definitely use some alcohol in it. All that it would need to make it a bigger his is some of that amazing Sonic ice!
