Perfect Timing: Cold Front Hits El Paso Just As Curfew Begins

Talk about great timing. In an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus El Paso, County Judge Ricardo Samaniego issued a stay home order with a daily curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. that began Sunday night and lasts two weeks. The order comes after El Paso saw a surge in cases- that doesn't look like it's going down anytime soon. Violators of the curfew order will be fined $500.

While many don't think the curfew will do much, and many who oppose the curfew, I think it's perfect timing! A cold front is expected to hit the 915 Monday night into Tuesday morning. As someone whose day begins at 3 a.m., I did notice a crisp chill in the air when I went to work Monday morning- I love it! Coming this week we can expect a chance of rain, snow flurries, freezing rain and possibly sleet. On Tuesday we can expect to be in the 30s to 40s. It's perfect weather to STAY. INSIDE.

However, because this is El Paso, we all know not to get ourselves excited for cooler temperatures. According to KVIA, warmer weather will return by this weekend, just in time to have beautiful weather for Halloween. Which then causes concern, with the curfew in place and nicer weather expected for Halloween, will people stay away from gatherings and keep to themselves at home? Now is not the time to let our guard down, with 12,470 active cases in El Paso, it's best to take advantage of the cooler weather and stay at home.
