Before They Closed Forever: The Last Concerts at These El Paso Venues

There are several shows that El Paso can enjoy on a weekly basis; from huge venues like Speaking Rock to the Don Haskins Center, Abraham Chavez to smaller venues like 101, Lowbrow Palace, 11:11...there's no shortage of places to catch live shows.

However there are several places that are gone & all we have to remember them are the memories we have of them. Whether it's a photograph, a video, or just a retelling of you being there. Here are some concert venues that are no longer around in El Paso & some of the final shows at those places. (All thanks to sites like Setlist.fm & Concert Archives)

Sound Seas (1989)

Yeah we're starting off this list with a REAL old school punk rock venue, the old Sound Seas venue that used to be located at 4488 Titanic Ave. According to Setlist.fm, the last show there was the Full Fathom Five on March 18, 1989. Even after 30 plus years of Sound Seas closure, there's still people that share their love for Sound Seas on various Facebook groups.

Metropolis (1996)/Corral Nightclub (2005)

People who lived near 1421 Lee Trevino Drive will remember the old Metropolis venue that ceased operations in the mid-90s. The last show that was held there was a band that we saw earlier in 2026; My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult on October 8, 1996 (thank you Setlist.fm). Other artists who performed there include Radiohead, GWAR, Fugazi, Marilyn Manson, Anthrax, Slayer, and several more.

It later became the Corral Nightclub; Breaking Benjamin, The All-American Rejects, Static-X, Otep are among the bands who played there. But Brides of Destruction & Adema were the last bands to play at the Corral Nightclub on November 1, 2005.

The Attic (1997)

710 Texas Ave was the home to The Attic, before it closed down in 1997. Before its closure, At the Drive-In twice on October 26 & 27 in '97, BUT its final show was Lolita No. 18 on October 29. There does exist some OG concert footage from The Attic like this '94 performance of NOFX & Face the Day & the Pissing Razors performing there in 1996.

E9 (2004)

For those who remembered E9 at 511 Western St, you'll remember seeing bands like AFI there in 2003, Alien Ant Farm in 2001, or the Misfits in 2000. However the last show (According to Setlist.fm) happened on April 24, 2004; The Independents had the honor of being the last band to play at E9. There does exist some concert footage from E9 like December's Children in 1998 & At The Drive-In (maybe their 2000 performance?).

The T-Lounge (2006)

Flyleaf, Ill Nino, The Killers...these bands had to pleasure at performing at The T-Lounge that used to be at 1218 Texas Ave. However the final show was on March 5, 2006; Since By Man, Protest the Hero, The Bled & As Cities Burn were the last 4 bands to perform at The T-Lounge. So far the only footage that's (easily) found on YouTube is a video of 39 Reasons performing their song "Wasted Life" in 2005.

Chic's Bar & Billiards (February 2010)

Just down the street from where the Rockhouse was located, was Chic's Bar & Billiards at 9809 Montana Avenue. Amazingly a whopping 183 shows were recorded at Chic's on Setlist.fm's website. Memphis May Fire, Asking Alexandria, Death Angel, Whitechapel, Portugal. The Man are just a few bands that performed at Chic's but the last one to do it was Upon A Burning Body on February 16, 2010. X'Cape (2005)

X'Cape at 209 S El Paso St is our next stop. I had friends who told me they got to see The Strokes there way back in the mid-2000s; other artists who performed at X'Cape include Papa Roach, Deftones, Ministry, Less Than Jake, The Black Dahlia Murder and SEVERAL others played there. But the last show at X'Cape was on December 3, 2005: Senses Fail, Saves the Day, Emanuel & The Early November were the last ones to play there before the venue changed names. You might know it better as...

Tricky Falls (October 2018)

Yes. Without a doubt one of the most beloved concert venues that we miss to this day. It's a venue that I've seen SEVERAL bands live like Nightwish, Royal Blood, Nothing More...I've even gotten the chance to perform there myself with my old band, Hot Shot Kixxx.

The final show at Tricky Falls was back in 2018; according to Setlist.fm, they say the last show was on October 20 with The Despots but Concert Archive shows Green Velvet & Latmun was the last one on Halloween Night. Although we couldn't talk about final shows at Tricky Falls without mention Escape the Fate's concert on October 11; Set to Stun, Picturesque, Famous Last Words & Slaves were all included on that line up.

Rockhouse Bar & Grill (April 8 2026)

The last stop is one we sadly had to say goodbye back in April of 2026. Another venue I have some great memories there; like opening up for Hail the Sun in 2017, seeing Above Snakes/Kingdom Collapse/Blind Channel/Fire From the Gods/From Ashes to New in 2022 & Shim back in 2019.

Some of the final shows that happened at the Rockhouse was Galactic Empire/Psychostick on Feb 25, Exhorder on Feb 2 & Crowbar on March 23, 2026.
