Music Really Does Help During Workouts
Damn near everybody in the Borderland had made a New Years resolution to work out, get in shape or slim down. Here's why music will help you with that!
Everybody seems to be on a workout kick these days. If you're one of them, be sure you pack some tunes along with your workout gear. It really does help!
- It's a great distraction, keeping your mind off the exertion among other things. (Faster music works better too ... good news for punk and metal fans!)
- Music makes you WANT to move. When you feel that groove, you tend to already want to dance or, at least follow the rhythm or keep time with it. Add in some weights or hop on a treadmill and go nuts!
- It changes your mood and helps you to focus on YOU. Whatever else is going on in your life, you can leave it all behind with this healthy form of escapism.
Those are just a couple of reasons why music helps you work out. So, before you hit the gym, the running track or whatever to fulfill that New Years resolution, make sure your trusty iPod is charged and ready!
