Jeff Bezos is one of the richest men on the planet. He fluctuates from being the top of the list to second. It's between him and Elon Musk. They both have built hugely successful businesses and also have a bunch of side projects. Musk has a more famous space program in Space-X, but did you know Bezos has his own called Blue Origin?

Apparently Bezos is a big fan of El Paso and the surrounding area because he has lots of projects going on here. We have the Amazon distribution site being built in El Paso. CLICK HERE for info on that. He has also used the area (Van Horn to be specific) to do test launches for Blue Origin. CLICK HERE for more info that.

Bezos is also building a gigantic 500 foot tall clock just east of El Paso.

The project has been in the works for over 30 years and is the brain child of American inventor and scientist Danny Hillis. The clock will sit in the Sierra Diablo Mountain Range, a little over 100 miles west of El Paso. Considering this video was shared back in 2018, the hope is it'll be done soon.

The clock is a 10,000-year clock that is going to be powered by day and night thermal cycles. It will also be synchronized to solar noon. The also isn't the only planned clock of its kind. Bezos and those building the clock hope to have multiple eventually put up.
