4 Possible Places You Can Spot William Shatner Before He Heads to Space
Captain James T. Kirk is heading to space for real this time!
In case you've missed it, William Shatner will be heading to space in the next group of passengers aboard Jeff Bezos' New Shepard spacecraft from his Blue Origin Company.
Shatner will be the oldest person to go to space- at 90-years-old and will be joined by three others, two of which are paying customers. The trip is slated for October 12.
Shatner confirmed the news on Twitter:
This is not just a big deal for fans of "Star Trek" but for probably the richest Trekkie of them all, Bezos, who is a huge fan of the sci-fi series and actually had a cameo as a high-ranking alien in the 2016 film “Star Trek Beyond.” His rocket company invited Shatner to fly as its guest.
The launch will happen, just as it did last time, in West Texas just near Van Horn- which means there's a high possibility that Captain Kirk will have to make his way to El Paso sometime. But where would we be able to get a glimpse of the celeb? I have four ideas as to where he could be spotted.
1. L&J Cafe
This one is obvious because it's the one place that celebrities usually go to! Check out the gallery below to see other celebs who have hit up the Mexican food restaurant.
2. Gene Rodenberry Planetarium
Okay, this one is a little far-fetched, I know. But how cool would it be if William Shatner, THE Captain Kirk visited the site dedicated to "Star Trek" writer, and El Paso Born Gene Rodenberry?!
3. Rocketbuster Boots
At the first launch of Blue Origin, we had gotten word that Bezos was in town getting some custom-made boots at Lucchese Boots; however I feel like Shatner is more of a Rocketbuster man, after all, Rocketbuster was good enough for Arnold Schwarzenegger!
4. Chico's Tacos
Obviously.
Maybe Shatner won't actually make it into El Paso to visit around, but if he did, I stand by these!
