We constantly get rumors of businesses coming to El Paso. Some of those rumors have some true, like Ruth's Chris Steak House and Dave and Busters. Some rumors are still just rumors, like Cheesecake Factory or on a grander scale a Six Flags park. And some even were rumors, were becoming true, but the business backed out like Great Wolf Lodge.

One rumor that has been popping up recently is Amazon looking to build a distribution center in El Paso. You can check out a previously article by CLICKING HERE.

The newest rumor about this is that they are starting to break ground and put in work to build the distribution center. The work began back on July 3rd from a Salt Lake City based construction company Layton Construction Co. Just where is the fulfillment going to be? According to the El Paso Times:

It's located between Rojas Drive and Interstate 10, and near Eastlake Boulevard. The Socorro school district's headquarters at 12300 Eastlake Blvd., is near the construction site. The Eastlake Marketplace, under construction, is across the street. Residential neighborhoods are nearby.

Amazon is remaining pretty tight lipped about the new construction. When asked about it, Daniel Martin, a spokesperson for Amazon said the...

company is not yet commenting on any specific operations plans in El Paso.

So what is exactly going in there? We aren't quite sure. Signs keep pointing to an Amazon fulfillment center but we can't say that 100% confidence. Yet. We'll know soon though because the work is already beginning out there and something is going in.
