How To Get Your COVID 19 Relief Money If You Don’t File Taxes
The IRS is sending out relief checks to taxpayers but some, non-tax paying citizens can get one too.
The United States Government has begun the process of issuing relief checks to eligible adults to help them through the COVID 19 pandemic. For most, getting the check is pretty simple as the IRS will use the same info they use for income tax purposes to direct the money. Not everyone owes income tax though and, therefore, may not be required to/planning to file an income tax return. If that's you, don't worry you can still get yours!
According to irs.gov, eligible non-filers are U.S. citizens or permanent residents who:
- Had gross income that did not exceed $12,200 ($24,400 for married couples) for 2019
- Were not otherwise required to file a federal income tax return for 2019, and didn't plan to
