I remember going to the library when I was a kid and I loved it. I wasn't really much of a reader though, I just remember loving going to the library. I am a reader now though and I'm trying to get my kid into it as much as possible. So we went to the Dorris Van Doren branch of the El Paso Library and got our library cards.

To be completely honest, there was another reason I went to get our library cards as well. As I have mentioned on the show and in previous articles, the wife and I make the trip to Austin every couple of months. The most recent trip we drove and for the first time we downloaded an audiobook to listen to. (Quick side note here. We listened to The Silent Patient and it was awesome! I highly recommend it.) Anyway, it got me looking into audiobooks and I found a way you can get them for free.

If you have a library card there are apps out there that give you access to thousands of audiobooks for free. The one that I am using is called Libby. It's pretty simple. Download the app, put in your library card information, and BAM! You have access to thousands of books. It's not just audiobooks either. You can download books to read as well. This is, of course, easier if you have a tablet you can read from, but your phone will work too.
