5 Family Activities You Can Do In El Paso Before School Starts
August 1 is officially the first day of school in El Paso according to EPISD. So NOW is the time to really take advantage of summer activities.
Go to a water park:
It gets hot here in El Paso (I know shocking right?). So if you need to cool off, one of the best ways is going to a water park. Of course we got Wet 'N' Wild or Biggs Water Park (although that's only for military families). But there's 4 more to choose from in El Paso:
Or an amusement park:
If you're not in the mood for a water park, there's always an amusement park.
- Western Playland is currently open Wednesday thru Sunday for the month of July. Once August hits, it's back to being open Saturday & Sunday.
- Urban Air is open 7 days a week at 801 S Mesa Hills.
- Bob-O's is open Thursday-Sunday at 3851 Constitution Dr.
- Adventure Zone is open 7 days a week at 251 E Redd Rd.
Go to an El Paso Library:
The El Paso Public Library is still holding their Summer Reading Club for parents & kids who want to spend time reading together. It's held at various libraries in town & there's 16 of them in El Paso. So if you need to find the library that's near to you, you can find them all right here.
Attend a free concert:
Sometimes the best things in life for free & every Thursday, Cool Canyon Nights have been bringing free shows to the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater since May. Right now there's only a few shows left until the season wraps up July 28. You can see all the info for Cool Canyon Nights right here.
Go see a movie:
Who doesn't love going to the movies? Aside from the Flix Brewhouse, Cinemark & Alamo Drafthouse theaters in town, there's also a couple of El Paso summer movie series that kids can go to before school starts.
And always, you can still attend an El Paso Chihuahuas or El Paso Locomotive FC game, go to a park or you can go to El Paso Zoo (or attend the after hours throughout July).
