In the ghostly spirit of El Paso, Heather Shade, and Dean, our own versions of Boo Radley, have been delivering spook-infused events for ten years.
PARANORMAL PICNIC: TRADING ATTICS FOR PARKS IN SPOOKY EL PASO
Just last year, they swapped their eerie attics for the park, regaling local enthusiasts with scary stories in their free series, "Ghost Stories, Legends, and Lore at The Park”.
Because who would dare put a price tag on phantasmagoria (yes that's a real word)?
Their story selections span everything from a tall tale involving a neighborhood prankster who dupes folks into believing in giants, to stories of El Paso's own Goliath, Jacob Ehrlich, standing a heady eight-and-a-half feet tall.
PHANTOM FESTIVITIES: HAUNTED PLAZA THEATRE TAKES CENTER STAGE
They've even stirred in a pinch of Mothman and a dash of UFOs to spice up the supernatural mix.
The pièce de résistance, however, is the haunted Plaza Theatre.
This former burlesque theatre – which is true and might explain some of the otherworldliness – supposedly hosts a variety of specters.

Lastly, the ghostly narrative climaxes with the O.T. Bassett Tower, home to a secretive basement swimming pool – because who said ghosts can't enjoy a pool party?
Heather maintains these ghost stories are entwined with El Paso's identity, echoing its rich history and culture. Which I guess is scary?
