This may be the worst idea ever if you are going to steal a car and run from the police.

A car thief in Australia stole a Toyota Land Cruiser and took the vehicle on the last drive of the car's life. The robber took the four-wheel drive vehicle on a two-hour police chase but had no luck getting away.

The vehicle was being followed by police when the thief drove the vehicle to the other side of the road and onto the sand area near the ocean. The area is popular with owners of four-wheel drive vehicles to go off-roading. The driver jumped out of the vehicle at one point, trying to run from the police, but when he realized how close the cops were, he jumped back in the SUV and drove directly into the ocean.

The first wave engulfed the vehicle and the driver was forced to jump out of the window and onto the roof of the vehicle. The police on the beach simply waited until the waves pushed the vehicle closer to shore and then arrested the thief. The police then had to tow the vehicle back out of the water.

Moral of the story is don't steal, or better, don't assume you can drive away into the ocean. We can't walk on water, what makes you think a Toyota can drive on it?
