Boxer David “El Nino” Rodriguez KO’s Owen Beck [Video/Gallery/Audio]

On Friday June 24^th The Monster was ringside for the David “El Nino” Rodriguez/ Owen “What the heck Beck” fight at the Don Haskins Center.  Most experts thought that this fight would be a major test for Rodriguez, as they predicted that the fight might even go the full 10 rounds.  But David proved the experts wrong as he scored a 3^rd round knockout with a tremendous left hook. The punch was so hard that Beck was down on the canvas for about 10 minutes.  Thankfully he recovered and was able to get up.  With the victory Rodriguez became the WBC FECOMBOX Heavyweight Champion and is now ranked in the top 10 in the world rankings.  And wouldn’t you know…The Monster caught the whole thing on his Iphone.  You can check out the video below:

David dropped by the KLAQ Studios today (6/27/11) and talked about the fight.  In this segment David talks about the fight itself and how he felt going into the fight, his thinking during the fight and his concern of Owen Beck after he was down for 10 minutes after he had knocked him out. "I took a knee and said a prayer for Owen and Thank God he was ok."

David's future in boxing is discussed in this segment.  Now that he will be ranked in the top 10...Who does he want to fight next.  He answers that question and then the conversation turns to David's other passion...conspiracy theories.  David talks about living in Las Vegas and about how close he lives to Area 51 so naturally he would love to get a tour of it.  He's hoping to meet a General that's a boxing fan.  He also talks about a couple of conspiracies that he's following right now.
