They’re more of heavily armored, mega-all-terrain personnel carriers.  They’re called “Strykers” and they are coming to the Borderland. The Joint Task Force North at Fort Bliss made the announcement but didn’t specify exactly where they will be deployed.

The Strykers, M1126 Infantry Carrier Vehicles, are part of the latest deployment ordered by DoD to support the Trump administration’s priority of securing the US-Mexico border.  The Defense Department also announced that they will be sending in an additional 3,000 soldiers to the southern border, not just in El Paso but also the Big Bend area and other nearby environs.

People are going to have different emotions when they see these big, intimidating war-wagons rolling around.  If you’re generally in favor of the administration’s aggressive border policies, you’re probably going to love seeing them. You might even be overcome by a sense of national pride and patriotism.

On the other hand, if you are not a fan of the current admin and its policies, you may have completely different feeling.  I certainly have my own reservations. But, the one thing I would never do is blame the soldiers or make them an object of derision. They’re job is to do what they are ordered to do by the relevant chain of command.  You don’t have to be happy about, but flipping off a 20 year old soldier is no way to express your disapproval.
