The first day of school can be a little scary not only for students BUT for new staff.

As a way to make the first day exciting and fun, the staff over at Bowie High School welcomed their new staff into the new school year by singing the school fight song.

Sadly, I do not even remember my high school fight song, but I kind of know UTEP's. I am going to have to go back to the Fabens website and reteach myself the song. I am incredibly jealous of just how much school pride is oozing from the osos!

Oso is Spanish for bear.

I have always admired the Bowie bear community for their deep love of school pride! El Pasoans are very proud of not only the city but from where they graduated.

Bowie wasn't the only school showing their pride for a new school year, many El Paso Independent School District schools did something special for the first day of school.

As the first day of school for 2021 - 2022 will come and go. The memories will last forever. It may be a scary year with some students returning to a classroom after being homeschooled for so long, but we will all get through it together.

We here at KISSFM wish the best of luck to all the students and staff returning to school!
