There are 3 rock bands a lot of us are familiar with that are based out of El Paso. We all have a personal favorite from one of those three bands that were formed in El Paso, Texas. The three rock bands almost every El Pasoan is or should be familiar with are At the Drive-In, Sparta, and The Mars Volta.

We haven't really heard much from Sparta or At the Drive-In lately over the years. But we all heard the good news recently about The Mars Volta resurrecting and releasing their 18-LP vinyl box set La Realidad de los Sueños. There were a lot of people excited about the recent news from The Mars Volta. Their 18-LP vinyl boxset is set to be released on April 23 which you can pre-order your copy by clicking here.

Last year Sparta fans were stoked when the band released their new album Trust the River last year in April. After releasing their new album they were supposed to go on tour but the pandemic stopped all of that. What was even better was when Sparta hosted three exclusive online concerts last summer.

Now, some of you wish that you could hear the same kind of exciting news for At the Drive-In. Fans of At the Drive-In were stoked when they heard the band was performing at Neon Desert Music Festival in 2018. Then later down the line in November Cedric Bixler-Zavala tweeted about not knowing when they will play again. Some of us love all these bands equally while some people have their own personal favorite. Don't get me wrong, I love all three bands except I can actually pick my top favorite out of the three. Let me know which is your favorite band that formed in El Paso in the poll below.
