I've been celebrating October and Halloween with my list of 31 horror films I think you should see. They're all movies I like, and I want you to share your favorites with me and everyone else, too! Here are some trailers for the movies I've gotten from you guys so far. Great movies, check them out!

Insidious is sort of a recent film, that has some really good spooky moments to keep the creep-factor pretty high throughout the movie. The story revolves around a family, who's child has some funky experiences and then goes into a coma. Or so they think. There are a bunch of weird things that happen, some glimpses of something scary and building strangeness. I like the psychological scary stuff.

Sometimes I just browse through Netflix and look at movies I've already watched to see what other movies they'll recommend that are "similar" to them. Let's not get into a discussion of how they're recommendation software works. I've seen some really weird suggestions. But one movie popped up a couple of times, and so I finally hit play and watched it.

Clive Barker was working really hard early on in his career to take Stephen King's horror throne, and had a string of great books and movies. Hellraiser was just the first great movie, but one of my favorites that often gets overlooked is a really creepy flick with Scott Bakula from Quantum Leap.

Today, we're leaving American shores for the far east and Three Extremes. A collection of three short films that are (to say the least) incredibly disturbing. If you see the names Takashi Miike or Chan-wook Park as the director of a film, it's a good sign that it will be amazing. Dumplings, Cut and Box are the three films, and are wildly different stories, but all seriously messed up.

Day 4 of 31 Days of Great Horror introduces the mighty werewolves! Lots of time is spent on vampires and zombies, but the werewolf movie has some great movies for us as well. Going back to 1981, we received The Howling, with Dee Wallace, Patrick Macnee (of Avengers fame) and hottie Elisabeth Brooks giving us some full frontal action!

Because tonight is the Grand Opening of KLAQ's Mansion of Death...in 3-D, I figure the best way to celebrate it is to offer you what is probably my favorite haunted house movie of all time! I love Halloween and scary movies! So much, that I watch scary movies all year long, I don't just save them for October. I know some people don't like them, but they're so much fun to watch! Especially today's horror movie: Prince of Darkness.

October is my favorite month, for a couple of reasons. One of which is Halloween, and all the embracing of scary and evil movies, books and more! I love scary movies, and will watch one whenever I get the chance. Here is my October 1st pick for a good scary movie you might not have seen:

For a guy who loves scary movies (like me), there's a bunch of cool stuff on the interwebs. Lots of independent filmmakers now have the chance to make the movies they want to make, and they don't really have to cater to the big movie companies, pay exorbitant wages to crap actors, union stuff, site fees (don't tell anyone)...you get the idea.
