According to a new article, if your children didn’t serve in the military, some people think you should be donating to military-related charities to make up for the lack of participation.

An article in this morning's El Paso Times  told the story of three wealthy couples who have started a fundraising effort to raise $30 million  for five organizations that provide medical, financial and other help to veterans, active duty troops and their families.  They believe that if you have military-age children who have not served in wars, then you should give something, wealthy families should give more.
