According to a new article, if your children didn’t serve in the military, some people think you should be donating to military-related charities to make up for the lack of participation.

An article in this morning's El Paso Times  told the story of three wealthy couples who have started a fundraising effort to raise $30 million  for five organizations that provide medical, financial and other help to veterans, active duty troops and their families.  They believe that if you have military-age children who have not served in wars, then you should give something, wealthy families should give more.

Should you pay up if your child has not served in the military?
