What do you get when you put mariachis, rock-and-roll, great food and great times together in Union Plaza? You get the Mexican Food Cook-Off, 2015 edition.

Thanks to MetroPCS and many other great sponsors like Western Tech and TFCU, Union Plaza was rockin' on a Friday night, and not just with the mariachis!

Bartenders from around the city participated in the Margarita Shake-Off inside The Garden while chefs and restaurants went comal-to-comal to see who has the best Mexican food in El Paso -- no easy feat in a city full of great Mexican food.

But the food and drink wasn't just for judges only! El Paso's finest food trucks and stands were parked all over Union Plaza, with some great kitschy shopping mixed in.

Buzz Adams brought the entire morning show (because they're all living at his house!) by for some fun. Check out the video and you'll see Stephanie dancing with her kids, new MoSho producer Brandon Coates, who, alongside Veronica Gonzalez, was happy to be a judge for the cook-off (despite the tilápia that seemed to looking straight at him), and Intern Emily who seemed really eager to know where the margaritas were.

Super Mario knew exactly where the margaritas were! Or was that Nacho Libre? Actually, maybe Nacho should have been played by Mario's shake-off co-host, Pinche Alex, seeing as he has more experience in the ring.

You'll also see that the big guy, Brad Dubow, was around to help with the cook-off; though what he had against Brandon's fish we're not sure.

One of our newest voices, Jason, pops up in the video, too.

Even El Paso music legend Little Mike was there to watch his granddaughter, Shannon Clark, perform for Mariachi Paso del Norte, which did a GREAT job with their rock-and-roll mariachi selections, including a Pink Floyd version of Las Mañanitas that got lots of laughs from the crowd.

Just makes us look forward to next year's version that much more!
