All-Conference Forward Bryson Williams Enters the Transfer Portal

Bryson Williams, a two-time All-Conference USA forward, has elected to transfer from the UTEP men's basketball team as a graduate transfer.

Following the departure of Rodney Terry to Texas, along with Joe Golding joining UTEP as their next head coach, the Miners have seen six players in total enter the portal. Williams joins Tydus Verhoeven, Efe Odigie, Kristian Sjolund Adam Hess and Vuk Vulikic as the members to enter the portal following the season.

Williams could end up joining Terry at Texas as a graduate transfer to join an already loaded roster. He could always return home to play for Fresno State, where he played two seasons for his hometown college before coming to UTEP. Or, he could entertain offers from Pac-12 schools like Oregon or Arizona, which both recruited Williams when he was leaving Fresno State.

In back-to-back seasons, Williams was the focal point of the Miners men's basketball team. He stormed onto the scene in the 2019-20 season, where he averaged a team-best 17.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game en route to a First Team All C-USA finish. He ranked third in C-USA in points per game and ranked fifth in rebounding per contest. He took a back seat to Souley Boum in 2020-21, where he was the second-best scorer at 15.1 points and led the team in rebounds at 7.4 per game.
