During the World Cup, America got to experience something almost as entertaining as the matches themselves: watching Freddy discover America.

The German tourist, who goes by FreddyLA7 on X, became a viral favorite as he traveled across the country, experiencing everything from our food to our stores and, most importantly for us Texans, Texas itself.

Well, Freddy is planning another American adventure, and this time he has college football on his mind.

Dear Freddy, I have a suggestion!

Freddy Is Coming Back to America for College Football

In a post on X, Freddy shared that after falling in love with American sports culture during his World Cup trip, he's now looking at returning to experience college football.

And of course, there are some BIG schools he could visit. That's part of the fun of college football. But then Freddy shared another post that really got my attention.

While reading an article about his potential college football adventure, he came across a suggestion that he shouldn't only focus on the big-name schools. He should check out some smaller programs, too.

And guess which school and stadium were among the suggestions?

UTEP and the Sun Bowl!

Freddy, whoever wrote that article was onto something!

Freddy Needs to Experience the Sun Bowl in El Paso

Look, I'm not going to sit here and pretend UTEP is one of the giant college football programs Freddy will probably have on his list. But that's exactly why I think El Paso would make such a fun stop.

The Sun Bowl is unlike a lot of college football stadiums. It's nestled right against the Franklin Mountains, seats more than 46,000 people and has been part of El Paso for more than 60 years.

And if Freddy's first American adventure taught us anything, it's that some of the best moments came from him discovering things he probably wasn't expecting.

Imagine giving him a UTEP game surrounded by the mountains, some real El Paso hospitality and, obviously, an introduction to our food.

Actually, the food alone might require an extra couple of days.

Freddy, Consider This Your Invitation to El Paso

Freddy already got a taste of Texas during the World Cup, but West Texas is a completely different experience.

Come see the Sun Bowl. Catch a UTEP game. Eat some Mexican food. Let us show you around the Sun City!

Because if this next trip is really about discovering American college football beyond just the biggest stadiums and most famous teams, I can't think of a better place to add to the adventure.

Freddy, El Paso is ready whenever you are!
