The Spirit of Rush Will Live On In El Paso At The Rockhouse
Anyone who's met me knows that I'm a HUGE Rush fan. I know they will never perform live again, however there are people keeping the legacy of Rush alive & that'll definitely be the case at the Rockhouse in August.
The Rockhouse Dive Bar Kitchen Venue, 9828 Montana, will be hosting one of the biggest Rush tributes August 7th: Freewill - The Rush Experience. (It IS a 21 & over ONLY show)
Rush is one of those bands that is truly unique: you listen to their music & it's hard to imagine if ANY, band could truly replicate what they've done, let alone just with 3 people in the band. Well looking at Freewill, it's clear they not only have the LOOK of Rush, but they do a pretty good job SOUNDING like Rush (Complete with the singer doing bass & keyboards just like how Geddy lee did):
Freewill's setlist usually contains many of the classics from the 70s & 80s like Subdivisions, Tom Sawyer, Freewill (obviously), Closer to the Heart, Working Man. They even throw in a crazy jam that only Rush themselves could've pulled off like By-Tor & The Snow Dog & La Villa Strangiato.
Freewill recently did a concert at The Marquee Theater in June along side another great tribute band, The Iron Maidens (the all-girl Iron Maiden tribute band) after waiting a year to do concerts again so it's nice to see them make a stop & bring the love for Rush in El Paso next month.
Tickets for Freewill - The Rush Experience at the Rockhouse Dive Bar Kitchen Venue, 9828 Montana, are $10 at the door & it is only for ages 21 + older.
