Rodriguez directed hit films like Spy Kids, Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Machete, and other fan favorites, and is said to have used the home as a "writing oasis and hidden retreat". Of the listing, Rodriguez said:

Driving just 15 miles from my studio to the Bond House, I'd start my weekend feeling like I was in another country. I'd go right through the great room with its pitched ceilings to the shaded and enclosed pool area, feeling that amazing lake breeze and watching the sunset while sipping a shot glass of tequila.

Rodriguez has a special connection to the Morning Show; he was a guest not too long ago and I like to think that we became good friends who love to discuss film. Okay, maybe not good friends, but we got a pretty cool photo together and he liked my shirt.
