The Biggest Dating Trends Texans Saw This Year
Pickleball, nano-ships, loud looking and the pink bow emoji are just some of the things many singles in Texas may have noticed the most on Tinder this past year!
Cuffing season is in full swing, and I have bad news for you if you're not already cuffed with someone, then you'll just have to bear the cold months ahead alone because it's too late!
For those of us who are single in Texas, then we know that this year was another whirlwind when it came to dating and Tinder! Now, Tinder has released their "2024 Year in Swipe" report, revealing the most popular trends on the dating app over the last year, as well as a look at the future of dating in the year ahead.
The annual report analyzes data from bios, surveys and behavior of users around the world to give us a recap of the most popular trends on the dating app over the last year and what singles can look forward to in 2025.
Highlights from this year's Tinder's Year in Swipe include a term that I never knew existed: “Loud looking”! “Looking for” was Tinder’s top bio mention of the year, which shows that singles are taking charge and being upfront about what they want in a partner, whether it’s a “man in finance” or a “gamer girlfriend.” Probably stemming from that viral "I'm looking for a man in finance" TikTok!
“Pickleball” was the fastest-growing mention in user bios. Mentions of the popular sport were up 148%. I still don't get the appeal of pickleball, but then again I'm single.
Finally, no romantic connection is too small, thanks to nano-ships. Singles are defining all kinds of romances, even the tiniest interactions matter, whether it’s an “eyecontactship” from a quick spark with someone on the train or a “textuationship” with the person who texts you “good morning” every day.
