The movie "Love Actually" romanticizes the idea of greeting your loved ones at the airport, but in reality, it's not a great experience- in fact, it could be a nightmare!
Holiday travel isn't for the weak, if you're going to brave the crowds, the overbooked flights and the high chances of your flight being delayed due to weather, then you need to know what airports are notorious for these things.
Luckily, the folks over at Local Insider have gathered the best and worst airports in the country for holiday travel. The bad news? One Texas airport made the list of top ten worst airports for holiday travel!
Local Insider found that William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas is one of the worst airports in the country for holiday travel! This airport made it to number eight.
To determine this, Local Insider took an in-depth look at flight punctuality data across the United States, specifically focusing on departures during the holiday season. They analyzed flight record data provided by the Bureau of Transportation.
They found that at William P. Hobby Airport, you have a 22.0% chance of your flight either being delayed or canceled altogether.
While William P. Hobby made the list of worst airport for holiday travel, another Houston airport made the top ten for best airport for holiday travel: George Bush Intercontinental/Houston! There, your flight has an 85.8% chance of being on time!
