Last weekend a student at El Dorado High School was shot and killed after a house party got out of hand. El Paso Police say 18 year old Kenneth Ellababedi was at a party on Sunday morning when a house party on Wendy Reed Street in the Montwood Heights neighborhood of the far east side that had been touted on social media spiraled into fights. Shots were fired by a unknown person or persons and Ellababedi was killed.

Police say that the crime scene eventually engulfed three blocks of the neighborhood where the party took place. There have been no arrests made and very few details about that night have been released. Ellababedi was laid to rest earlier this week. The El Paso Times reports that there is a video that allegedly shows teens who were at the party "showing off guns." On Thursday afternoon, EPPD announced that they had made arrests of people who allegedly made a social media threat against El Dorado High School.

Socorro ISD officials say the threatening message turned up on social media late Wednesday night but no details about the post were released. There are reports that the threat might have involved shooting up the school. SISD officials say there was not viable threat to students or the campus and they posted additional police on El Dorado's campus "out of an abundance of caution."

As a parent it is vital that your kids know that threats of this kind can have serious consequences. Police and school officials take them very seriously and charges can be brought against anyone who makes such threats.
