The Mall Of America was temporarily locked down tonight at 7:50 pm when it was reported that shots were fired on the first floor inside Nordstrom's. Surveillance video showed a fight between about five or nine people before a victim was shot multiple times.

A Bloomington Minnesota police officer was in a nearby store when he heard the gunshots ran to the scene and tried to render aid to the victim but it was too late the man had already passed away from his gunshot wounds.

Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said to KSTP:

This is absolutely ridiculous, I mean this is just flat-out stupid. If anybody helps these people — I mean so much as buy them a Happy Meal, give them a ride, we’re going to lock you up with them.

So far no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Chief Hodges did mention that the Mall Of America is looking into installing additional metal detectors. As of right now they only have one.

It seems like in the last few years we have heard more and more stories of violent altercations at MOA. This is the third shooting at the Mall of America this year, the last one happened in August sending shoppers scrambling for safety. Below is a video that was on Tik Tok tonight of some customers shopping when you can clearly hear a gunshot go off in the background.
