I had a random idea pop into my head in the past week and now that idea is happening over on Rockstar 101. If you aren't aware, Rockstar 101 is the podcast I do with Shim Moore, the former lead singer of SIck Puppies. Here is the most recent episode where we're talking about the playlist I created.

Here's a quick rundown of what we're doing. I'm creating playlists that are the best rock from a particular year. The main stipulation is the album has to have been released that year. Not when the single was released. When the full length album was released. And myself, Shim, and... YOU are building this playlist throughout the month of February.

To find the playlist, head on over to Spotify and search 'therealbrandolorian'. That's my user name on Spotify (as well as Reddit and Instagram), and you'll be able to follow the playlist there. If there's anything that you think should be on the list, head on over to the YouTube video and comment there with the songs you think should be added.

Some interesting notes about the year in rock 1995:

  • Some truly legendary bands released their first albums:
    • Foo Fighters - Foo Fighters
    • Deftones - Adrenaline
    • Filter - Short Bus
    • The Presidents of the United State of America - The Presidents of the United States of America

There was also a mistake in the original playlist. For some reason I missed the fact that Bush's Sixteen Stone was released in 1994, NOT 1995. So that has since been removed.
