The Texas Military Mobile Testing sites have been operational in El Paso since early May and while the military may be packing up to head home, the COVID-19 testing sites will not be shutting their doors. The  testing sites will transition over to a new contractor Honu who will be running the sites in El Paso County through July 31st.  Testing sites will now be able processing 500 tests per site per day, up from 250. Starting on Wednesday, July 15th no appointments will be required to get tested at any of the five testing sites within the city and the various rural sites in the county. All sites will be open for drive-thru testing and walk-up testing will also be available at the hybrid testing site located at the Nations Tobin Recreation Center. No appointments are necessary but the public is being advised to arrive early. Some testing sites have reportedly had people waiting in excess of five hours to get tested. Once the 500 test limit has been met at that testing site, the site will be closed for the day.

While the tests most recently being offered at the Texas Military sites have been the oral swabs, the nasal tests will be administered through Honu. Testing is free and available for anyone with or without symptoms. Please see the dates and hours testing is available at the various sites below.
