Northeast El Paso is rocking!!  There's talk of a new water park, the new Sam's Club at Diana and US-54 opens in January, a new shopping mall is under construction and now this!

The site of the old Northgate shopping mall at Diana and Dyer could become a $100 million dollar "smart code" neighborhood.  According to the El Paso Times, drawings of the proposed development:

depict a landscaped community of homes and loft apartments, offices, shops and stores, courtyards and parks all within walking distance.

Whichever developer wins the project would lease the property from the city with an option to buy parts of it. The El Paso Water Utilities Public Service Board will also play a major role in this as construction will require renovating the drainage canal along Diana St.

There are also plans for a new CVS Pharmacy in the same area and a new commercial center on McCombs!!
