Lemmy Kilmister, lead singer of heavy metal rock icons Motörhead has died. According to TMZ, the heavy metal legend passed away just after 4 p.m. today.

The news of Lemmy's death was first reported by his longtime friend and radio and tv host Eddie Trunk. Trunk also acknowledged that Motörhead has not confirmed this news, and that the official statement would be coming out tomorrow morning.

Kilmister has recently been battling serious health issues, that even forced the rocker to cancel concerts. Kilmister also scaled back his alcohol and tobacco use due to these health issues. Lemmy has been a smoker for over 57 years. Kilmister also suffered from a hematoma, and was fitted for an implanted defibrillator in 2013 for an irregular heartbeat.
