King’s X singer-bassist Dug Pinnick recently issued an update on drummer Jerry Gaskill’s health. Gaskill, suffered a heart attack on Feb. 26 and was subsequently admitted to the hospital for an emergency operation and extended care.

Pinnick took to his Facebook page to update fans, posting, “Saw Jerry and he smiled and gave the thumbs up. He seemed to recognize everyone and seems on it. Really cool. He is having some difficulty with the breathing but overall looks sharp. Feel much better about this. Very excited. Just want to share that with you guys. Julie (Jerry’s fiancé) is amazing.”

The Jerry Gaskill Facebook page has been updated recently too, reading, “Jerry is progressing very well. He’s weaning from the ventilator and going to start physical therapy soon!”

King’s X continues to raise funds to pay for Gaskill’s medical bills by offering fans a live concert download from 1991 called ‘Burning Down Boston – Live At The Channel 6.12.1991.’ All proceeds from the 14 song, 89 minute set will be go towards Gaskill’s accrued medical bills, fans can purchase it here. In addition to purchasing the download fans can make direct donations as well. All donations can be sent via check made out to Jerry Gaskill. King’s X had to cancel their North American tour but hope to have Gaskill back behind the kit soon enough!
