High School Performance by Teenage Green Day Surfaces Online

Check out Billie Joe and the rest of the guys in high school rocking out the courtyard. 

Green Day are known as punk rock icons, even now making it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but what were they like when they were just simple, high schoolers trying to get their classmates to pay attention to them? Luckily for us, now we have and answer. This video was uploaded by Youtube User Leo Dyke of a teenage Green Day performing songs off their  39/Smooth + one song from Kerplunk!

This video shows a shockingly non punk dressed Green Day rocking out to a semi interested crowd in a 1990s Pinole High School courtyard. The songs played during this set are from almost solely Green Day's 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours. The coolest part of this video has to be the fact that Billie Joe Armstrong is playing his Fender Stratocaster, named Blue, which he still uses in performances today.
