The road is a tough place to be when you're under the weather, and though he attempted to power through, Godsmack frontman Sully Erna ended up having to cut short the band's Tuesday night (May 13) performance in Montclair, New Jersey.

Fans still got to see most of the set, but according to a post from the band, Erna exited the stage just prior to the encore as he was suffering from shortness of breath and dizziness. Apparently, the rocker has been battling a virus of late that took its toll during the Tuesday performance.

The band's statement on the matter can be read below.

At the conclusion of Tuesday nights performance by Godsmack in Montclair NJ, just prior to the encore, Sully came off stage experiencing a shortness of breath and dizziness. Out of an abundance of caution it was decided to have him be further evaluated by medical personnel off site and end the performance prior to the completion of the encore. Godsmack regrets having to end their performance prior to the 3 song encore, and hope that everyone will understand the reasoning for doing so given the situation. Sully had recently been battling a virus that likely contributed to the situation. Fortunately, he was evaluated and cleared to perform and is able to continue with the tour including the show tonight in Rochester NY. Thank you so much to those who reached out in concern and understanding.

As stated, the show will indeed go on for Godsmack. They're currently in the middle of a North American tour and will play the Rock on the Range Festival this weekend and Rocklahoma the following weekend among the dates left on the schedule. They've also got a European trek and shows in Russia booked for June, as well. Check out their tour dates at this location.
